A finished basement is the cheapest square footage you will ever add. We take unused, unfinished basements and turn them into family rooms, in-law suites, home theaters, gyms, and entertainment spaces, properly framed, insulated, egress-compliant, and permitted.
Basement framing and new stairsDetroit basements have a reputation, moisture, settling, old framing. We address waterproofing, vapor barriers, and proper insulation before we frame a single wall. Your finished basement is built to last, not built to look good for two years.
Basement prepped for finishingMost basement finishing projects in Metro Detroit fall between $35,000 and $85,000 depending on square footage, layout, and whether you add a bathroom or wet bar. A typical 1,000 sq ft finish runs $45,000–$65,000.
Yes. Every Detroit-area municipality requires permits for framing, electrical, plumbing, and egress. We pull all permits and schedule inspections. Unpermitted basements cause major problems when you sell.
We always inspect for moisture issues before framing. Depending on what we find, we may recommend interior drain tile, vapor barriers, sump pump upgrades, or exterior waterproofing. We do not finish over wet basements.
Typical timeline is 6–10 weeks from framing to final finishes. Larger basements with bathrooms or kitchens can take 10–14 weeks. We do not start framing until permits are pulled and waterproofing is verified.
We walk your project, ask the questions other contractors skip, and put a real price in writing. No high-pressure sales.
